Reflection #7 Kindergarten, hypothesis, thoughts

Today, at the school I observed a performance from the kindergarten students. They were so cute. I made a hypothesis on the difference between the little girls and the little boys. The little girls tend to look at other people and see if they are doing the dance right. The little boys tend to do whatever. I asked one of the teachers what she thought about the assumption. She said it tends to be that way. Although I kind of need to test my hypothesis instead of basing whether it is supported or not based on what a teacher says. Those kindergarteners are so cute. I guess I would not mind teaching them. One girl suddenly started crying during a performance and part of me wanted to hold her on my lap, but I know that would not be appropriate as a student teacher or even a teacher. I thought about how there is that boundary between teachers and little children. I decided not only is that there to keep the atmosphere professional and guarantee that the teacher does not baby his/her students, but I think perhaps when the students are in a school atmosphere where they cannot necessarily crawl onto the adult's lap, they begin to develop emotional independence. I don't know if this is true. It's just something I thought of.
